LOOKING FOR SOME ADVENTURE? TAYO NA SA ANTIPOLO!

When thinking about activities such as off-roading, biking, and riding ATVs, Antipolo may not be the first thing that comes into mind. Little did we know that this city has numerous activities and wonderful places in store for us.

For those who want to take a breather and recharge from all the gritty city life, read on and find out some activities you can do over the weekend! The best part is it’s only an hour away from Metro Manila!

Ride an ATV through the Sierra Madre

For adventure-seekers wanting to enjoy nature as well, ATV Adventures Rizal can give you what you’re looking for. They offer tours through the Sierra Madre Mountain Range using an all-terrain vehicle. Among the adventures you can choose from are: “you can rough it out through the forest, drive along the Marikina river and interact with some of the locals from nearby communities, or you can opt for the half or full-day adventure which entails riding both the ATV and walking for several kilometers” (Malmstrom, n.d.).

ATV Adventures Rizal also has other activities you might enjoy such as horseback riding, archery, and paintball.

Rates start at P2,500. Make sure to book on their Facebook page (@ATVadventuresRIZAL) or through their website (https://atvadventuresrizal.com/).

Cross the Cloud 9’s Hanging Bridge

Cloud 9’s hanging bridge is not for the fainthearted. Their hanging bridge is perfect for when you want to relax seeing a 360-degree view of Antipolo. Crossing their hanging bridge also brings you to their famous viewing deck, perfect for witnessing the sunset and the beautiful city skyline.

Bike around Mt. Maarat

Taking a little detour to San Mateo, Rizal, Mt. Maarat is a biker’s paradise. This trail is accessible from Antipolo through Marcos Highway and bikers can also get mountain bike and motocross courses offered by Antipolo’s KRB Off-Road Track.

From Mt. Maarat, bikers can also take a round off-road to Timberland’s Basic Trail and Roxas Loop, as well as places like Philip’s Sanctuary (Pestano’s Farm) and Basekamp Biker’s Pit Stop, “which have their own classic cross-country trails and challenging downhill and free-ride trails” (Santos, 2020).
