Masungi Georeserve

When talking about Rizal and hiking, this one’s top of mind. Masungi Georeserve boasts of its beautiful limestone formations and the breathtaking view of the greens and Laguna de Bay.

They also have the famous sapot, a spiderweb-like viewing platform that is part of their Discovery Trail.

Mt. Mapalad

As its name suggests, this beginner-friendly trail highlights a structure of a palm of a hand at its summit. It is perfectly positioned so you get the perfect view of the Sierra Madre mountains, the sea of clouds, or the beautiful sunrise.

There are two routes you can choose from to reach the summit, and either one will take you 2-3 hours to complete.

Mt. Pamitinan

If you’re up for an extra challenge, try out a hike in Mt. Pamitinan. This one will require you to pass through a trail of forests and climb rocks to get from one part to another. This will all be worth it in the end as you’ll be greeted with endless greenery and a view of the river that flows to Wawa Dam. 

Breathe the fresh air, enjoy the sea of clouds, and relish your accomplishment of completing the trail on the summit.

Mt. Batolusong

Mt. Batolusong is often referred to as the Batanes of the East. Its rolling grasslands and panoramic scenery give hikers the feel of the northernmost province in the country, and it only takes 1.5 hours to complete the trail, passing through rice fields and woodlands.

There would also be a quick ascent to the trail’s endpoint, the Mapatag Plateau, a vast and windy spot that gives you a scenic view of Mt. Banahaw on a clear day.

Treasure Mountain

Not into the idea of hiking by foot? Treasure Mountain is for you! This famous destination gives you a beautiful sea of clouds view and the Sierra Madre mountain view. All you have to do is drive up to this privately-owned campsite. 

And since this doubles as a campsite, make sure to bring or rent a tent so you can also enjoy stargazing! If you want to stay longer, there are also swimming pools, cottages, lounge chairs, and an obstacle course.
