CAN’T GET RICH ENOUGH: CELEBRITY HOMES WITH ELEVATORS

While some of us are already drooling over the extravagant houses of celebrities with their pools, walk-in closets and big kitchens, some of them go far above and beyond to make their places more magnificent.

Here are some celebrities that upped their game and installed their elevators at home! Let’s talk about luxury, shall we?

Team Kramer

The home of the Kramers are never absent when we’re talking about amazing celebrity homes. Aside from their infinity pool, home theater, gym, playroom, and office, they added the detail of having an elevator at home to make it more extravagant. The elevator is coated in gold as a tribute to Doug’s mom, Nellie Kramer, since she loves gold.

Sharon Cuneta

The megastar’s home in Mandaluyong not only has one, but two elevators! It was originally built for her late mom, Elaine Cuneta, to make it easier to transfer floors when she got sick. There’s more! Sharon Cuneta’s fortress also had a dumb-waiter in their kitchen.

Angelica Panganiban

Angelica’s home in an exclusive village in Quezon City has a combination of Victorian and modern designs. She bought this three-storey house in 2012 after her break-up with Derek Ramsay. This purchase helped her a lot in the recovery process, and indeed, she turned it into a magical one, equipped with an elevator. Her friend, Angel Locsin, revealed this feature in her instagram post in 2016.

Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez

Ogie and Regine’s 600-square-meter, three-story house in Quezon City is also equipped with an elevator, which was installed when they had it renovated in 2013. The primary purpose of this is to help their parents access the floors of their house easily, and in preparation for when they grow old in the house as well.

Zsa Zsa Padilla and Conrad Onglao

Their three-story, modern Asian glass house in Makati City is indeed jaw dropping. Its main feature is the tall hollow column with glass panels, which is actually the shaft of their private elevator. They also installed a dumb-waiter to get food and things to and from floors.

Fun Fact: For those with a luxurious budget, installing an elevator in the home will only set you back around P1 Million which is why many contractors will actually throw this feature in as a freebie for big clients.

What are the benefits of having an elevator at home?

Aside from the luxury it brings into your home, adding an elevator can make your home safer and more functional. Let’s look into the reasons you should dream of having your elevator at home.

It adds safety. Like celebrities who installed elevators at home, one main reason for doing so is to provide safety to the elderly or those with medical conditions. To be able to get away with the fear of tripping and falling on the stairs which may cost more money, installing elevators provide a safe way for family members, friends, and guests to go from one floor to the next.

They are more functional. Say goodbye to the struggle of carrying heavy laundry baskets or groceries up and down the stairs. Aside from eliminating the probability of tripping and falling, it also significantly reduces physical strain from needing to put heavy objects from one floor to another.

It adds value to your home. If, one day, you decide to sell your home, there will be an added value to it when you have an elevator installed. It can appeal to many people and can be a huge asset to your property.
