By now, you must have known that LRT Line 2 which reaches Antipolo is now operational. What does that mean? More accessibility and shorter travel time from Manila to the East!
According to the Department of Transportation, the opening of Antipolo Station in LRT 2 will cut down commuters’ travel time to 40 minutes, instead of the usual 3-hour bus or jeepney ride (De La Cruz, 2021). So if you’re working in the city, this is great news because you can go back and forth to the office in a shorter period of time.
The Antipolo Station is situated in front of SM Masinag. They operate daily, even on holidays, starting from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM. A ride from Recto Station to Antipolo Station costs P30 for single journey tickets, and P28 for stored-value cards.
With the extension of four kilometers to the existing 13.8-kilometer LRT-2 train line which previously runs from Recto Avenue in Manila to Santolan Station in Marikina, LRT Line 2 can now accommodate an additional 80,000 passengers daily, boosting the entire rail line’s current daily ridership to 240,000 passengers (San Juan, 2021).
There have been delays in the previous years in the completion of this project, but now that it is operational, we’ve got nothing else to complain about. The LRT Line 2 Extension Project has been helping thousands of commuters daily to get a more accessible and reliable mode of transportation. Thanks to it, commuters don’t have to bear hours-long traffic and commute to their workplaces.

Still hesitant to move to the East? It just got more accessible!
Numerous infrastructure projects are still ongoing to bring it closer to the Metro. Wait for them to be completed and prices will surely skyrocket! Don’t miss your chance and make your move early. Waiting will cost you more.
