The hustle and bustle of the city can sometimes get overwhelming, don’t you think?
Once in a while, it is also important that we take the time off and recharge ourselves–away from work and all the noise around us. This helps our overall well-being and makes us reconnect to ourselves every now and then.
The question is, where to?
There are a lot of weekend destinations around the city where you can relax and recharge. But, what about a quick trip to immerse yourself in nature? What do you think about the sound of trees and birds, the cool breeze, and the lovely green scenery?
If that sounds good to you, check out Mount Purro Nature Reserve in Antipolo!
The Mount Purro Nature Reserve (MPNR) is a family-run eco-park that also serves as a reforestation project and a means of livelihood for the Dumagat tribe living in the area.
It is located in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range in Barangay Calawis, Antipolo City.
For your weekend getaway, you can choose from a number of accommodations they offer. They have 4-person Suite Homes to Dorms that can fit 9 people. There are also huts, lofts, cottages, function areas, camping grounds, and a pool. So, whether you’re traveling alone or with your family, there’s surely something to enjoy at this place.
MPNR also encourages you to disconnect from your busy life and reconnect with nature. You shall expect a limited mobile signal here, and there are no air conditioning units for you. What you shall enjoy are their wellness activities and the cool mountain air.
If you’ve got some adrenaline left, you can also do a trek to Malvar’s Peak and the Payagwan River. While on your way to reach these sites, you can also enjoy and discover the rich flora and fauna of MPNR.
Last but definitely not least is Loli’s Kitchen. You don’t have to worry about bringing your meals as their in-house restaurant serves hearty home-cooked Filipino meals. Aside from the delicious food, you’ll also feel at home with its cozy interiors.
Now, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and get ready for a trip to MPNR!
